I have decided I am not a good spectator.
Put me in front of a good skate video (or DVD is more relevant nowadays?) and I'm happy... for a while, then I get the skateshakes. I tend to get a little too excited and have to try what I see- but in my own very minimal representation i.e watch John Cardiel grind a 25 stair rail at mach 10 -I have to hit the driveway curb for a slow, sloppy 2 foot grinder.
At the moment I'm out with a busted ankle- nothing new, everyone's done it. On Sunday I went rolling with my boys taking photos. This theoretically should be fine- I like taking photos, I like the people I was with and the rain held off so whats the problem? The SKATESHAKES! The darkness started creeping in, the green eyed monster showed its ugly face, I found myself giving my crew evil looks, evil thoughts.
Skating is just too much fun to just watch- I don't get the kids who can 'go skating' and just sit at the skatepark having the occasional ciggie standing up once an hour to throw down a lazy hard flip on flat and then 'chillax' for another hour. Skating should be fast, dirty, bloody, loud, aggressive and leave you breathless and bruised (yeah I know what that reminded you of gutterbrains!).
Just watching is not enough.
I am not a good spectator.

or fence climber.
