I know this is a skate blog but I really want to urge you all to educate yourselves, or at least take some interest in, the oil crisis over in the states.
This whole situation is completely fucked and is a terrible, unnecessary disaster for our world. BP have lied, broken numerous laws and continue to do so as this disaster continues- this is not just a natural disaster but the result of a mega corporations unnecessary greed by drilling deeper than laws dictate and not having contingency plans of what to do if things go wrong (even after alarm bells were ringing months and months before the spill).

I have personally almost given up on New Zealand mainstream media after the absolute SHIT they have been reporting on for the last year or so and it just seems to be getting worse and worse. (How can a story on Jennifer Aniston's new rom-com possibly be the third most important news story on the 6 o'clock news!!!!! I TASTE VOMIT IN MY MOUTH!!!!!)
